The German government is pi**ed and are vying to oust GM. It's obvious why GM put its top brass over there.

This is also likely going to hurt relations between Obama and Merkel. I'm thinking that GM also p!ssed off the Administration. This was probably a really bad plan, all things considered.

Of course, if GM believes it's too big to (allow to) fail, then there's no problem for them.

There was bound to be some issues like this when you governments of various countries each owning large amounts of stock of the same company. What's scary is Canada still owns a lot of the new GM's stock although Canadians are known to play hardball as much as Germany.
