Clutch like burning smell?

My car has 800 miles on it so far, and sometimes I get a clutch like burning smell that I think it from the vents. It is possible that this is also from outside the car, but it seems to have happened too much to be coincidence. I also think it happens more often in L than in D. Anyone else have this smell? Is the car just too new yet?

I just passed 600 in mine - no burning smell, but smells that I'd classify as 'new plastics' coming from the vents.

I don't think it's the Voltec driveline clutches because I believe these three clutches are "wet" clutches buried inside the Voltec transmission.

I've noticed a faint odor, but only when the engine starts. Could that be the reason?

Even though I have 4800+ miles on mine, the engine has only run for about 160 miles, so it still smells "new" when it runs.

Yeah I got that the first day the engine ran, after that I had not noticed it on the very few occasion the engine started.

I have over 800 miles on the 2012 and haven't noticed it - but the ICE has only been on once for the maintenance mode.

I've got ~1100 miles on my Volt and remember getting a faint "electrical" smell the first few times I put her in L and used it to slow down. Kind of like the smell when you turn a new motor or when an electric motor is hot. I drive in L almost all the time now and have not smelled it in about a month.
