These are my Generation rates but do include Transmission costs, Delivery Service Charges, power supply adjustments, Systems Benefits charges. What is interesting is last year at this time I called the utility and tried to get a description or calculation for each of these extra charges that are based on kWh in some way. The utility is more confusing than you can imagine. The large item, Delivery Service Charge is some amount that comes from your total kWh YTD, and it was explained to me that it is based on the total kWh both on peak and off peak so far that year. What is interesting to me is that I still have 1834 kWh in credit against my on peak usage. Hence the Volt gets Day time charging a lot.
Code:
Time Advantage 9 p.m. - 9 a.m. (FROZEN)
Winter (November - April billing cycles) Cents per kWh
On-peak kWh used (Mon. - Fri., 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.) $0.14515
Off-peak kWh used (Mon. - Fri. 9 p.m. - 9 a.m., and all day Sat. & Sun.) $0.05565
Summer ( May - October billing cycles) Cents per kWh
On-peak kWh used (Mon. - Fri., 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.) $0.17866
Off-peak kWh used (Mon. - Fri. 9 p.m. - 9 a.m., and all day Sat. & Sun.) $0.05774
Fortunately I have nearly all my on peak power and some of my off peak power provided by my Solar Panel system. Since those weird charges are kWh based so they only nip my wallet in August. So far this year I have sent the utility about $109. At year end the utility credits my account $0.065 per kWh for the excess generation. This year it covered all my costs through July.
Here is an example of that bill section (The paste was less than successful for format):
Code:
Cost of net electricity
Basic service charge $6.90
Delivery service charge $47.34
Environmental benefits surcharge $8.65
Federal environmental improvement surcharge $0.27
System benefits charge $3.56
Power supply adjustment* -$9.58
Metering* $5.39
Meter reading* $1.80
Billing* $2.03
Generation of electricity on-peak* $0.00
Generation of electricity off-peak* $27.18
Federal transmission and ancillary services* $8.80
Federal transmission cost adjustment* $7.13
Cost of electricity you used $109.47
$27.18 in generated off peak cost me over $109.
