Well today is my Volts official build date! Now I know it might not be built until Friday but I'm going with today. This car is so smart I call it HAL after the AI in 2001. So happy birthday HAL!!

My TPW is 9/12 as well. Looks like our Volts will be siblings.

My Volt was also scheduled for production today or sometime this week. Thats pretty neat for all of us.

I wonder where our VINs will land. Any guesses? My guess is C-4100. (based on no information, just a wild guess).

Congratulations to all you new and future owners! The waiting process is one of great anxiety, but let me reassure you, it's well worth the wait! My Volt is the nicest car I've ever owned! It's smooth and silent with great gadgets to keep the nerdiest of us busy. Just be sure to post photos of delivery day and your 1st impressions!

My build date was either 8/31 or 9/1 and my vin is C3344. Figure about 150 cars per day so my guys your serial will be 4200-4400. Let us know how close that is when you get your VIN and it will help confirm the # of cars coming out f Ham each day.

All Volts built in the same week have the same TPW of that week's Monday. So if they're producing 150 cars a day the range of Volts with a TPW of today will be around 600 VINs, not 150.

Ah yes you are correct but that was HAL9000, clearly the Volt is more advanced and is actually a HAL9000.1!Much more stable than the beta HAL in 2001 and hopefully not homicidal pgallant !!

I'm not sure but I've been told that the VIN is given to the car when it comes out of the paint booth. Something I thought was sorta neat.
