    Default Remote Not Detected?

Several times now I have had my keys in my shirt pocket, started the Volt and the display indicates
    "Remote Not Detected".
I can, however, drive the Volt normally and if I move the configuration switch to another page and then back, the warning display goes away.
It never has done this with with the keys placed in the center console.
I wonder if anyone else has experienced this?

Could it be low batteries in the remote? Change them and see what happens. Has this just started?

Yes, I have experienced this several times and have not been able to identify any reason why the message is displayed.

    @ Paul Slazas,

That is very strange because it should still be able to to detect the fob while it is in the Volt with you. I would try N Riley's approach and change the batteries first and see if that make any difference. If it still remains a problem, I would bring the issue up to your dealer.

I've had a problem similar to this crop up a couple times (my wife also once), with no idea why. It's been to the point where we've had to put the key in the ignition to start the car. But subsequently everything's fine, and the remotes haven't shown a hiccup for months.

So at least in our cases (and I suspect in yours) it's not been a battery issue. I don't know what it is, but it hasn't been that. What it *is* is annoying.

Interesting timing. Just yesterday morning, I got in my car, put my foot on the brake, and pressed the On button. I immediately got the message "No key fob detected". I turned the car back off, then pushed the On button again. No problem, worked fine. First and only time this has happened to me. I always keep the key fob in my pocket.

Thanks and I Will check that. It does not happen very often, and at least I can easily reset it.

Rusty, At least I have not had to use the key in the ignition. I will check and see if my 2nd key fob does the same thing.

Default This has happened to me as well

This seems to happen to me about 1 out 10 times starting the car as well. I can start and drive the car fine, but then a notification pops up and says "Remote Not Detected". I can clear the message, but it pops back up a couple of minutes later. The only thing that works to clear it for the whole trip is to restart the car. I've only had my car a month, but I guess the battery may be low anyway. I'm going to swap remotes with my wife to see if it happens on her remote as well.

Mine is doing this with both remotes randomly. Dealer didn't know how to reprogram then, after an hour of waiting, I opened the owners manual and went through the entire process, still giving the problem. You can always insert the key blade into the hole in the dash under the flip up door. It will let you start the car, I need to take it in.. but not to the same dealer... hates those guys, other dealers give awesome service this one left the car outside Dirty and never charged it... Sorry to vent. Other dealers are great !
