Unhappy Placed order for my Volt in May, tracking now says the order is cancelled!Thoughts?

Does anyone know what may have happened to my order, PRDVFS? I placed the order in early May and it was updated during the summer as the 2012 models entered production. My dealer, in Michigan, informed me that the car would be produced in late August for early September delivery. On August 24th, I received an update on my order status stating that the order was cancelled and to contact the dealer. The dealer had no idea what had happened either and informed me that he would look into it and get back to me. It is September 2 and still no update.

I'm updating this post on 9/22/2011. The issue has been resolved and the production of my new Volt is underway!

Did you contact a Volt Advisor regarding this? Most computer systems have a change stamp that logs who made the change and time/date that it was done, possibly with User ID. It's probably a 5 minute process to figure it out and the Dealer (by now) has probably forgotten about it. Keep bugging the Dealer and remind them they owe you a call-back on this.

    Unhappy Selling Training Volt penalty!

Hope not you...A local Michigan Dealer ended up retail selling their Demo Training Volt. Per Chevrolet Volt Demo rules the local Dealer has forfited all Amazing Chevy Volt EREV orders and allocations for the 2012 Model Year. Hope it wasn't your Dealer...

    Best to you!! LGTVOTR

I was wondering how GM could enforce the "You can't sell your demo for 6 months" (or until you can replace it with a '12, I presume) dealer requirement.

That's... well...ummm.... well, I guess that would explain why all the dealers I've spoken to or heard of have been sticking hard and fast to it. And quick to clarify any hint that they might have done so.

GM can't tell a dealership what to do with a car once they've bought it (thus the occasional reports of price gouging). But there's nothing that says GM has to sell a dealership a particular model of car...

In any group you are ever a part of there is one bright guy that is sure the rules don't apply to him, and nothing bad will happen. Good luck to whomever made this call...it may not profitably work to your advantage.

My order for a 2011 was cancelled when they created a 2012 order for me (which has been fulfilled).

Rusty- GM has many different Dealer rules when it comes to the Volt. The dealers could not even get a Volt without first agreeing to the "dealer demo" requirements that GM mandated. The dealerships are also required to have Volt certified personnel in 4 departments. (I see this as a good thing for us consumers.)
