Ordered a Volt today! :)

I've been following the Volt since they first announced it...so I can't believe that I finally was able to order one today! I put down my deposit...selected Crystal Red with light neutral seats and dark accents, and a few other options...now just have to wait 8 to 10 weeks for delivery. This website has been TONS of help in learning about the Volt. Reading actual owner experiences instead of GM press releases has been great! I did find it funny that out of all the dealerships I contacted (maybe 4 or 5) I seemed to actually know more about the Volt than they did. Also, I can NOT believe I just ordered a car without ever having test driven it! I never thought that would happen.

So, it won't be long before I'm in the club!

I've been to 4 dealers and on the phone with 8 or 9 more... most of them don't have a clue about the volt though each dealer is supposed to a volt specalist I've found them still a bit lacking. Many made jokes that the people calling knew more about the volt did, and I'd just ask them in a dead flat tone, doesn't that make you think you should learn more. I've actually sent a few to this site to learn what real people say (and then they can send potential customers here :-)

Gave 3 test drives today, and everyone loved it. They all comment on the quite (is it on?) and the acceleration (I suggest giving test drives in sport mode ;-)

Expect your gonna love it.

I already have one i ordered my volt unseen and un tested when it came in my wife complained it was too small ( we are 4 wheel drive family ) my big problem now is my wife wont let me use it she absolutely loves it driving the volt is like driving a car twice its size
i know you will love it when they come in

I also bought my first Volt site unseen. I fully expected that there would be some rough edges but have not found any. You wouldn't be disappointed.

OK I cheated. I bought mine after a 10 minute test drive when Chevy came through Chicago last October. Even so, I usually wait for v2 of things before I buy, so this was outside the norm for me. My only complaint (besides the touch controls) is my wife also likes driving the Volt as much as I do! Of course, that's what you call serious buy-in.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I ordered the Crystal Red, but the dealer said it will be 2 weeks before they can actually place the order...something about it has to be the 4th quarter because their allocation is only for 4th quarter Volts. I told them that if the blue topaz was available that I want that. But I read that the blue is "late availability"...so I'm pretty sure I'm getting a red one. (I am having second thoughts though...as I really like the white diamond, and the black also)

I ordered all options except the NAV. I just could not pay $2000 for something that my Droid does perfectly. (not to mention I'll have the On Star directions thing)

Trust me, you will LOVE the RED on the Volt. Makes it look like a show car all the time. I admit the Blue will be beautiful too, though. But probably not quite enough better to justify having to wait 'til "late availability".

I really want to order the blue Volt with the "my link"...has anyone heard what GM means when they say "late availability"?
