I've not noticed any "clicking" or noise in either pedal. 7,600 miles worth.

I notice a clicking-like noise when I pull into the parking garage at work. There I'm just feathering the pedal to pull into a parking spot; since everything is so quiet, I can feel and hear something, but not sure what it is. It's been that way since I got it.

Hmmmm.... I don't think the parking brake cares what the main brake is doing at that point. And while the parking brake whirs, I don't think it's supposed to click. There's been occasional reports of the parking brake cable linkage binding up and clicking (or thunking), and it's a bad thing (or can be, in the long run).
Next time you're in the shop (which for a lot of people isn't very often in a Volt) you might want them to take a listen to it to see if there's an issue.
I do hear the clicking when I am pulling into my garage and inching it forward so it is perfectly aligned (as in the side door won't hit the car when it is opened and it won't get too close to the wall to obstruct the walking path in front). I thought this was just the electric motor engaging and disengaging due to the discrete pedal pushes.

I guess I am one of the few whose Volt has already spent quality time at the service shop :-)
I had to make several trips to get the Hood Release Latch to be attached to the wall.
After reading Bob_Livonia's post about the intermittent buzz, I realized that I've been hearing it too and been assuming that it was part of normal operation since it sounded more like a motor rather than any loose component. But after reading the post, I started hearing it more and more and then I switched the radio off and I kept hearing it all the time. So I dropped it off at the shop yesterday (the VA ensured that I got a loaner car from the dealership). The service advisor is still awaiting word from the GM engineer so the Volt had to spend the night away from my garage. Missing it and desperate to have it back. Should be a few hours. Wondering if I should call them and have them install the software update!

I took my Volt out for a spin this evening, rolled down the windows, turned off the radio and the fan, and listened as hard as I could for any clicking noise. I stopped, started, slowly, quickly, you name it. My hearing mus be pretty bad, because I could not hear a thing other than a Volt's electric motor whirring...

It is getting mysterious. The service advisor called me and reported that he will need to keep the car over the weekend since they haven't figured it out yet. He confirmed that there does seem to be a problem but admitted that he doesn't know enough to explain whether it is a major/minor thing. He could not even commit if he could let me have it Monday morning. So I called the VA line and urged them to support the service advisor over the weekend. What else could I do?
It is funny, the car was running fine except for the buzzing noise. Of course, I could not have ignored it. But now I am Volt-less and driving a gasoline car. With no idea when I'll get the Volt back. Not fun.

Umm, can we not sidetrack this thread?
The clicking is a switch for the gas pedal. If you "feather" the pedal, you'll feel and not hear the 'click'. Its annoying because if you release the pedal but keep your foot on it and depress the pedal again, you'll feel this click.
I use this method most of the time while on the highway because I'm trying to conserve battery and let it regen or coast but I dont always take my foot off.
The pedal travel should be smooth. The switch clicking under the pedals should have been designed out of the normal travel range.
