Default New Software Updates NOW AVAILABLE

I have been following this site for almost 4 years now. This is my first post, and the only reason I have come out of the shadows is because there has been a lot of talk about software updates. I am volt 1569 and the first Volt purchased in the state of MN. 2600 miles and averaging 200 MPG. Chargers are become more common here, but there is still a limited network. Many thanks to the Mall of America for being the first in the state to install chargers.

I was contacted by the volt advisor team today to inform me that a software update is now available for my volt, and all 2011 models. When I asked if he had any details about what this update will do.... he simply stated "modifications to the temperature controls and other things to extend the range of the vehicle." Very vague... so I try to dig a little deeper with no avail. No even gm-volt.com had any information about this new software upgrade yet.

I will be getting the software upgrade tomorrow...

Has anyone already received the update? Any modifications or significant changes you have noticed?

    @ Noel,

Sorry, missed this thread and started another one in the ownership forum. Was told it will also include some improvements on the Nav/Radio. Hope they publish a list of the improvements.

Trevor, I wanted to say "thank you" for all that you do on this forum. Your posts are always professional, always helpful, and prove that Chevrolet cares about us, the early Volt adopters.

I have one question as I have a 2011 Volt, how do I find my Volt advisor? I've never been contacted by one and am not sure how to find him or her?

I too would be interested in a list of changes in the software update, if you can share it with us!

My advisor called yesterday and said the software update will be available late this week or early next week.

I attended the Volt Homecoming at the 2011 Woodward Dream Cruise. A question that I asked was, "it looks like many of the new features in 2012 are software or have a heavy software component. Any chance of some of these being retrofitted for 2011 models? The answer was fairly vague but "Yes". BTW, was hoping to see a 2012 in the flesh but did not.

I look forward to hearing how the software update works out for you as my Volt Advisor, Brenda also contacted me.
I will be bringing mine in for the software upgrade in a week or two.
The Volt has another minor problem: The 3/4" wide black rubber strip on the left side of my roof has come loose at the back end of the roof. All in all I love the Volt and it is truly the best vehicle I have ever owned.

My Volt Advisor called today and left a message the upgrade is available and that I should schedule an appointment with the dealer. I am close to 7500 miles so I will wait until I get there and have the tires rotated at the same time as the upgrade. I sure would like to see a revisions list like I get from Sony on each and every PS3 software update.
