    Default Costco Auto Program

Has anyone had any experience with the Costco Auto Program and the Volt? I got in contact with a local dealer (albeit 100 miles away) that is looking into it for me. He said that the 2012 Volt is not listed yet. We used the program back in 2003 for a new Toyota Sienna and got over $1000 off when no dealers were budging on MSRP.

The Costco program doesn't really work or exist for "high demand" or "short supply" vehicles. They may have some kind of generic special like $250 off of MSRP, but its usually nothing you can't get yourself. The Costco program really works for general availability vehicles. E.g. they couldn't even get specials for new models like the Lexus HS250 hybrid. Let's put it this way. If the car isn't one that's generally available at a dealership lot, Costco doesn't have deals for it.

Not saying it isn't a good program (it is pretty good), just not for specialized/high demand/short supply vehicles.

Default american express car buying serice appears to support volt sales

i went thru their configurator and specified my actual vehicle (2011 volt # 2209) price quoted is $1,174 off MSRP. My actual volt came in at $500 under msrp. so $1174 off strikes me as a great deal.
options are white diamond, leather, backup camera, wheels.
I am not saying that a dealer would deliver the car at that price - i didnt actually hit the button that would initiate a purchase conversation with a dealer, but my past experience with this site a year ago was very positive. I was quoted a great price on a car and several dealers agreed to honor it.

2012 volts are not in their system yet.

good luck to anyone who tries this

I have an AMEX card too. I'll try both and see which works better. Thanks!
