2012 Volt is produced!!

I was just notified that my 2012 Volt was produced yesterday and code (3800) is being prepared for shipping. The 2011 I took delivery of in April took about 30 more days after this point before it was delivered. Three weeks of that was while it was "bayed" awaiting transport - I doubt if they can take that much time now that the production rate is increased. My 2012 serial # is 0444, indicating that they have produced about 65/day since start up of 2012 production - pretty good for start of production. They will have to ramp up to over 200/day to hit their targets. I don't know if they are running two shifts, 6 days/week or not.

Anyone else hear about their 2012 order?

2011 #2499 delivered 4/28
2012 #0444 ordered 4/22, scheduled for production 5/19, produced 7/27

My vague recall is that the second shift was in training through 2011 (starting September?), and would hit the floor first thing 2012. That might help to explain the production ramp expected in or by January.

I think VoltChick's Volt was produced last week - Canadian order (you can see discussion on Canadian thread). Anyway congrats! What were your options/paint color?

We were contacted by a Volt Advisor and informed that our vehicle will be manufactured during the week of August 15th. We were told to allow six to eight weeks for delivery.

Presently the event codes are:

06/23/2011 (1102) Order entered via web.
06/23/2011 (1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.
06/23/2011 (2000) Order accepted by GM. Dealer used allocation to place order into production.
06/28/2011 (2500) Order preferenced. Order pulled to the production system.
06/29/2011 (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.
07/20/2011 (1102) Order entered via web.
07/20/2011 (3300) Order scheduled for production. Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle.
07/20/2011 (3100) Order available to sequence.
07/20/2011 (3400) Order Broadcast (internal plant paperwork order produced). Order is sent to various build & supplier areas to bring order together.

I placed my order in early October of 2010. The car is fully loaded, beige leather with black trim interior, silver ice metallic exterior, with polished chrome wheels.

now i know why there is such a shortage of them in secondary launch states-- apparently everyone else is buying two. Sigh.
