    Default Delayed charge auto disabled

I've run into a problem this week and was curious if anyone had any insight (did a search but couldn't find anything related).

I normally have the volt set to delay charge. Typically when I get home I pop the charge door from inside the car, open the driver door and plug er in. Yesterday when I attempted to do this I noticed that the pop up screen said immediate charge and no delayed option listed. No surprise when I plugged the car in I got a 1 horn chirp and it began to charge. I didn't think anything too much of it so I left it to investigate for another day.

Today the same issue, no delayed charge setting after opening the charge door from inside the car. I poked around and went to the charge setting screen and the Change Charge Mode button is greyed out and can not be selected.

The manual had this nugget of information which seems to be the exact problem.

    Section 5-40
    Programmable Charging Disabled

    When the Programmable Charging
    system is disabled, the Default
    Charge Mode Status screen and
    the pop-up will display “- -:- -”
    for the Charge Complete Time.

    The Programmable Charging
system will be disabled if the
    Charge Complete Time cannot
    be confidently estimated. If the
    Programmable Charging system
    is consistently disabled, see your
    dealer for details.

I'll give the VA team a call and probably have to take it in. Just curious if anyone has had this problem?

    UPDATE

I noticed that I was unable to connect to the car from myvolt.com or the mobile app. I decided to give OnStar a call as I drove to work and ask for a diagnostics report. Pushing the Blue OnStar button did nothing, pressing the call button did nothing, pressing the emergency button did nothing. At this point I figure all of this has to be connected.

Closer to work I figured I would try the OnStar button again and this time it worked. What followed was a comedic level of miscommunication on both sides but somehow in the middle of everything they asked me to try the mobile app again and unexpectedly it connected. I parked the car and checked the delayed charge function and I was able to get to it and see my existing settings.

At this point I still don't know what happened or if OnStar did anything from their end but as of now the problem seems fixed.

When the difficulty was occurring, could it be that your Volt was out of cellular range, or shielded from cellular connection?

Wow, search does work...With all my onstar problems this thread problem has now happened to me.. Each day I seem to get progressively more issues related to my Onstar problem.

First I was unable to connect over the web
Then I was having sporadic outages on onstar
Then Onstar died and so did everything related (blutooth, gps, compass etc) and
Now tonight my charge settings have all gone and it no longer allows me to schedule a charge but just starts charging immediately on plug in. luckily I can schedule my blink unit to get past this problem.

Roll on Wednesday when I take this into the dealer

You might try one more call to onstar and see if they can do a reset of the hardware from their end (they did for mine).

I would but the Onstar unit hasnt powered on for 4 days. calling them by phone they say im out of cell phone reception, which they admitted just means they cannot communicate with the car.

The loss of the charge settings memory has to be a good clue as they seem to be stored in the volt.
One would not think a simple power reset like a replaced fuse would do that to the system.
I hope you two get an answer.
