Default Volt Generator- how does it start and stop?

Does anyone know how the generator starts and stops.
I have not seen many tech articles on this. Thanks!

I think you need to clearify the question, are you asking how the ICE starts, the the answer is with the smaller of the two moter generators, which then becomes the generator. Regen is done with the main electrict drive motor.

If you are asking what controles the hole process of generating or regeneration then it is the softwear controling the computers in the Volt.

If what you are asking is different please restate the question.

This one may be a good one for you: The Voltec 4ET50 Electric Drive System
