Able to order a 2012 Volt Yet?

Is it possible to order a 2012 Volt yet? More specifically, for areas outside the original seven sites, can people order Volts yet?

My dealer has confirmed that they have an allocation for three 2012 Volts to be delivered in Spetember-December timeframe and I am on that list (even put down some $$). He has the ordering info on line and we have picked out colors, options, etc. but says he cannot place the order yet. I want to stick with my dealer since he is working well with me and will be there when I service my Volt, but I am getting anxious to get my Volt in the system.

Has anyone been able to place an order for a 2012 Volt yet? If so, is there any magic incantation I need to tell my dealer to do to get the system to accept the order?

I have an order in for a 2012 but the allocations and pricing have not been released (I am in one of the original release zones). I posted in another thread that the current understanding is that the factory in Detroit closes next Friday for just over a month to re-tool for the 2012 MY. during that timeframe June-July both pricing and allocations will be released to dealers, starting Jul18th the 2012 MY volt will be built. Whats not clear is whose allocations will be released, at what time but as they do dealers will be given target production weeks for their allocations. Hope that helps but thats all I know...

I think your dealer is right in saying he can't order yet. Once the order goes in the car gets produced fairly quickly though it may seem longer. If the dealer in fact has an allocation this is probably the fastest way to get a 2012 model.

My understanding is that while the options and configurations for the MY '12 Volt in the USA have been released, pricing has not been established and NO dealers are being allowed to actually enter orders into the workbench.

I believe pricing has been established in Canada, and I think those dealers are actually able to enter orders. But your current dealer isn't just stringing you along or anything. Sounds like once he's allowed to enter any orders, he'll shoot yours right in there.

For what it's worth - I'm in the exact same situation, and getting the exact same information from my dealer.

My local dealer here in Youngstown, Ohio told me he would be able to place my order in July.

So it is getting close!!!!!

But I want blue and the MyLink options, which means I will wait even longer.... Unless I can't take it and just go with what is available. I will have to know how long of a wait those two options will take to be available.

This morning around 11:45 am, my dealer called to confirm my option choices because they were finally able to place orders for 2012 model year Volts. He says they were not released to place an order until 10:00 am this morning. I don't know if it opened up for everyone (in the second release zone) or if they are opening up smaller areas at a time. I'm just excited to have an order ID number!

Did you check your order number on the Chevroletconnects website to see if the options are the 2011 or 2012? mine shows 2011 options and no allocation, if yours is diff then ill be in touch with my dealer.

It is still: "05/26/2011 - Vehicle has been entered into the system and will be updated the following business day in most cases."

I can tell you that we went through the 2012 option list. I did not opt for the newly optional nav system, but did get the Bose speaker/sub/amp package. Also, my choice of color, cyber-grey, was not available. Second choice, red is a little loud for my taste, but it is very pretty in person.
