I would think they would have no problem selling to someone out-of-state. Call him and ask. It is the wrong color for me. If it was the right color, I would be calling him and driving from Jackson, Mississippi (about 7 - 8 hours). Good luck.

I thought they would let me sell out of state or with in Texas…with them only being released in certain market and not all dealers being certified to service them I can only offer it to someone in the DFW/North Texas area.

Why are some dealerships saying they can't sell out-of-state when others are perfectly happy to? I suspect it's more of a "don't want to" situation. Maybe since most dealerships make their money from service, they don't want to send what they see as a potential goldmine out-of-state...

There are supposed to be dealers all across the US that are training on the Volt. So, it shouldn't be a big problem to get one serviced no matter where you live.

That's completely correct, I can vouch for it. Sterling Chevrolet (Sterling, VA) could not have been a more pleasant dealer from whom to purchase. And they knew for sure where I lived--it was all over the paperwork when I place my order last summer. Del Chevrolet (Paoli, PA) could not be more pleasant when it comes to service. Today they notified me of the 7,500 mile wheel-rotation coming due. They already ordered my cabin filter and will install it then. They also are preparing to upgrade my Volt's software.

GM has some great dealers. You just have to find them...

Dealers make up their own rules. But they like to throw GM under the bus for their rules. The Internet is a consumers dream in this regard.
