Default Stephen King likes his Chevy Volt and Sarasota's Free Solar Power Charging

"I just love it because every time you do it, it is like saying to the oil cartel, 'Here, stick this in your eye,'" author Stephen King told the Herald-Tribune.

On the roof of the building, a 10-kilowatt array of solar electric panels was generating much of the power for the garage, including the charging stations.

Nice article. I love a parking garage with solar PV! The Chicken and the egg problem: with more chargers installed, people will feel more comfortable buying EVs.

However, typical naysayers in the comments.

I thought it was telling that he regrets giving the Volt to his wife, because he likes driving it so much. I have already anticipated this and have worked out a "joint custody" arrangement with my wife for our use of the Volt during the week, haha.

Her employer is creating "High Efficiency Car" parking spaces as they remodel. She asked if there would be any electric charge capability. Oddly, no one had thought of that before she asked. I hope they copy Sarasota's example!

Do you suppose Stephen King named his Volt " Christine" ?
