    Default Energy Meter

I'd suggest you make a small investment ($25) to get an energy meter. I'm currently configured to draw 8 amps. The little gizmo measures volts, amps, kW and will calculate kWh. It can even be calibrated at local hydro rates to read out in $. In two week's use, it reads $8.33, but then again, I use only 6.0 kWh in my daily commute.

I've travelled almost 550 km on electricity. Let's see... $8.33 would buy 7 litres of gas to cover 550 km. I guess that comes out to 1.25 litres/100 km.

Any chance this may have occurred?
No, my DIC said "Fully charged", and I know there was lots of time for a full charge, and furthermore, there was only 42 km off the battery before charging. Oddly, I noticed from my energy meter had drawn $1.20 of electricity. Glitch???

Well, I haven't heard of it before, so maybe. Also, you are the first person that I know using the Blue Planet Energy Meter, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Speaking as an Electrical Engineer, I'd have to say "unlikely". It hasn't happened before. If it happens again, I'll be hunting for an explanation. But speaking as a Software Engineer, I'd have to say "bugs happen". No worries.

I have one of those somewhere... never connected it to the Volt yet though. I'll try next charge.

My all-weather floor mats, heavy duty trunk mat, and 4 extra TPMS units showed up today! I'm really, really impressed with the quality of the mats, especially the trunk mat. Much better than the crap sold at Canadian Tire. I'm confident that the trunk mat will aide in suppressing the rear noise that some people have complained about.

I've got HID headlights, the mats, the TPMS sensors, winter tires, and a quality extension cord. Now all I need now is 4 rims which I'll probably order next week, and I'll be ready for my Volt when it arrives! Not entirely thrilled with the prospect that there might be snow out there by the time I get my Volt, but at least I'll be ready!

Nice! where did you get your mats from? The Dealership or elsewhere? I've got to get a set.

Much better price than the dealership even with shipping. Use the part numbers from here: http://www.gmaccessorieszone.com/Chevrolet/2011/Volt/ Canadian dealerships are quoting much higher prices on "extras" for the Volt than the US MSRP. It was around $130 or something. Brutal. I didn't try to haggle it, I just went elsewhere.

I'll probably get door sill plates too in a few months but not really a priority right now.

@mike1.....better price even with shipping!? Really? Because I'm wanting to buy the Leather Rear Seat Storage Barrier and I see they have it for US$81.77 which is better than the 'special' price my deal offered me of CAN$100 (it's normally CAN$113). BUT....the place you recommend then wants to charge US$49.94 for shipping (what they call CANADA USPS)! So that comes out to US$132 rather than a dealer's normal price of CAN$128 (including HST). And with the current dollar exchange rate...it gets worse.
Am I missing something? Perhaps your shipping was a better price because you bought a pile of different items.
I'm not trying to be critical of what you've said, instead I'm seriously interested....and just want to know if I'm missing something. But it doesn't appear to be an attractive place to order for Canadians. I'd LIKE to get my item from them since my dealer is sold out and there a months long delay....but at $50 shipping it's tough to consider. Did you manager a cheaper shipping somehow?

    03/04/2010 - Put down a $500 deposit to hold my #1 position.
    ....Bunch of stuff in between......
    09/08/2011 - Vehicle Delivered. Yippeeee!

Nope, I didn't get a better shipping price. Though, like you suggested, I got multiple items, AND, my dealer did not offer me as good of a price. In your case, might make more sense to go through the dealer.
