Low garage ceiling, so an easy reach.

Toronto Hydro reps connected with Schneider on my behalf. I'd be happy to send you the Schneider rep's name if you PM me.

Default Volt in the wilds of downtown Toronto

My first Volt sighting "in the wild" today!

Sunday afternoon, near Richmond and Sherborne, I caught a glimpse of a white volt with some sort of green graphics on the lower parts. Almost four months of having my Volt, and finally seen one on the streets.

    Anybody know who this was?

I live in the Beaches and saw one like you describe about a week ago, but although I didn't get a good look at it, I could swear that there were graphics all over it. I have also seen another white one with City of Toronto logo on it! You may see mine (red with beige leather interior) around Richmond and John Tuesday. Yes, they are rare aren't they?

This is interesting! Where does one get a ChargePass card in Ottawa?

You can get it from ChargePoint here http://www.mychargepoint.net/chargepoint-card.php

Supposedly a RFID enabled credit card or calling the 1-800 number on the charger works too, but the chargepass card is definitely the preferred way. Since it's an underground garage, cell reception is terrible, so I wouldn't advise relying on that.

I used it for the second time last night. Public charging is really effective with the Volt especially when you can leave it for 1-2 hours.

I saw a Nissan Leaf today in the parking lot by the Metro in South Keys (Bank and Hunt Club). It was blue with a light beige interior. From my limited observations, it looks really nice inside! Certainly in line with the Volt and nothing at all like a Mitsubishi iMEV. He had green plates as well which was good because I'd never seen a Leaf before other than in pictures, so it was a good "double-check" that I wasn't crazy.

The owner was a really nice guy and we took a few minutes to chat even in the busy parking lot which I certainly appreciated. I asked him about the battery life in the winter which is probably my only gripe with the Volt. He gets about 100km in the winter and the true 160km in the summer, but he attributed that to his insulated garage. I mentioned to him that my Volt was parked towards the back of the lot but as I expected, he had seen a Volt before. If I remember correctly, he said he had the 2nd Leaf in Ottawa and that there were only about half a dozen sold.
