Default Coulomb Offering Free Charge Cards

I just received this email from Coulomb saying they will give out free charge cards. Normally they charge for these ($14 I think?), so it's worth it to pick one up now. SoCal has several free public Coulomb chargers, so this is a nice thing to have, even if you don't intend to use any pay chargers. Also, it is a nightmare to activate the free Coulomb chargers by phone since you need to deal with a clueless call center in India.

Aw man, I just got one last week...no biggie (it only costs $9.95), but I guess timing is everything!

Yeah, I've got mine setting here in front of me. I paid 10 buck for it as well. Now, if they'd just put some charging stations in this state, I'd be a little happier with 'em.

Yeah, I just got mine yesterday. The nearest charge stations are 6 miles away, but they all say: "Restricted: Google Employee Vehicles Only"

Yeah, me too, LOL. Then I checked out their website for locations. None of them are going to work for me any time soon. Not quite ready for prime time IMHO.

I got the Coulomb charge point card last week....it was free. I opted for the key chain size card, it will stay in the car, no need to carry it around.

I applied for the free card. Now the next question is how much does it cost to use the charging stations. I checked Coulomb web site and they did not have any info on how much it will cost to use their L1 or L2 Charge Points.

Depends on who owns it. The website says whether they are free or pay. Santa Monica has several that are all free (except for any parking garage fees you may incur).

I had read several weeks ago or longer that someone in this forum called and had it mailed for free. It is $10 through their website. I called and they mailed it free several weeks ago. Problem is there is only one in our area. I couldn't use it because it was down. They get it fixed, but it is supposed to be private per the owners of the place.. sigh.. not what Chargepoint states online and my card works fine. The truely public one and first in the state was where I happened to be several weeks ago.. it was down at the time as well. I have been told that the tech to finally came out the repair (replace the head unit) made the comment that all of them have gone down and have needed repair/replacement so far... doesn't speak well for Chargepoint as we are 2 for 2 with no other choices within 50 miles.
