So until the last week or so, I've been pretty much blissfully apolitical.

If the US debt-rating gets lowered, it will cost our country countless billions in increased interest payments going overseas. So much for everything I learned about US Treasuries being the definitive risk-free security.

I suggest adding a new category to this political-leanings poll called, "Throw them all out of office!"

I live in Obama-hating country. That's ok, but the only problem is that everyone around here assumes the Volt is an Obama car. I tell them that he wants to take credit for it, but he can't, and if they don't like Obama, then they better not let him take credit where credit isn't due. I explain to them that GM announced the Volt's 2010 release in 2006, so how could it be an Obama creation? Then they tell me that it's an Obama car because he bailed out GM. Then I tell them that they're driving an Obama Cadillac. Then they shut up, but still think the Volt is an Obama car.

Actually THAT is the answer. Congress no longer represents the "people"
but simply shills for the big donors. Fire them all!

Right leaning independent; I don't vote on party lines but by the issues and how they affect me.
I read Fox News, MSNBC, BBC, Newsmax and WSJ to get a full accounting of a issue and make my own decisions.
Two things that I do stand for:
    1. That America is for American citizens and they should come before anyone else.
    2. That all people are created equal and have equal opportunity, beyond that it is their decision that determine their destiny; if they make poor decisions then they should not come crying to the government for a hand out.

I stand with Slapshot in that it is time to remove career politicians and put in people who will represent their constitutes not their party.

What a great thread to end the night with. Coworkers at the Dealership seeing me whiteknuckeled typing trying to counter post the many AntiVolt ranters that seem to populate any national Amazing Chevy Volt EREV news story from my online trade magazing-Automotive News ( autonews.com )-now daily stories and posts- to the WSJ, TruthAboutCars and on and on....

" Get off that comment page and go sell a car!"

Would pull my hair out trying to post back corrections to the wrong headed posts. Just to many of em...

Would log into my passion site- you all- and still, steaming from another round of Volt Defending counter posts out in the wild, find myself ranting on.....

I apologise. With the amazing mix of political angles that we here all hold dear or somewhat dear I am happy to see such an even political mix of owners and soon to be owners among us.

A private note from an owner and beloved member of Gm-Volt brought me back to ground the other day as well as a comment from another one of my GM-Volt Site Hereos' to me about taking a pill.... : )

I will move easier now and not get so riled up when I read the unbelieveable posts and threads out there in the wild.....they will fade away!

Thanks to all of you for helping me promote, sell and share the magic of The Amazing Chevy Volt EREV!

As a liberal, I suggest replacing MSNBC with The New York Times and NPR, and throwing in some high-end blogs like 538 into the mix (538 will often give you pointers to other high-end 'expert' blogs on the issues of the day). I think MSNBC would be as counterproductive for you as Fox News is for me in getting a feel for other views - they really just preach to the choir.

I call myself a "recovering Republican". 8 or so years ago, I considered myself a Republican. That is until the GOP became the party of extremists and nut bags...and that pushed me to the left. The more I learn about politics, the more I realize I should have voted left of center all along.

And hodad66...I love Rachel Maddow also.
