Default Have you tried jacking your new Volt?

The low ground clearance of the Volt presents some issues with jacking... here is one solution...with pics.

GM planned ahead when building the Volt with a tire sealant and compressor kit. There is no spare tire, no tire changing equipment, and no place to store a tire. I'll let the dealer do the tire rotations.

I agree, get the dealership to handle.

Well I wouldn't have gone to all the trouble just for the Volt, but since I am already doing the maintenance on my other vehicles it was fun to come up with an easier solution than floor jack and jack stands. At what my dealer wanted, eight rotations and the jacks have paid for themselves.

But if you are going to be lazy and have someone else do it :-) in my neck of the woods Sam's Club and the like are a much better deal for tire rotations, balancing, etc. Of course that's only after you buy replacement tires from them. From the way I push the volt cornering that won't be long. :-)

    Marc,

You said a magnet would not work for relearn. What method did you find that did work?

Available from Helm Inc 4/15. It's on my birthday list (late May, don't know if I can wait that long :-).

WOT obviously has additional resources to draw from.

Hmm I think if I had to choose between the nifty little "gift box" people have been getting or the service manual I would definitely go service manual!

As a side note, you just can't imagine how empowering it is to squeeze a lever and watch your vehicle rise from the floor!
