Anyone else running into connectivity problems with their android phone? I have an htc inspire, and it connects to the volt for about 5 minutes, then disconnects and then continually cycles. It also doesnt share the phonebook. Any thoughts?

I have a G2 and it pairs with the car every time and stays paired, even pulls in the contacts if you allow that permission through the phone.

My Android phone struggled a bit at first (couldn't remember the link), but now it seems to work perfectly (remembers the link every time).
It took a few weeks to get this right, including some cancelling and resetting of the BT connection. It was not a high priority for me, so I'm sorry that I don't have more details.
I have an HTC Evo Android running on Sprint. For the first couple of months it worked fine paired to the Volt. Then a few weeks ago it lost its pairing. I re-paired it to the Volt bluetooth. Now it works OK for the first couple of minutes of a call then abruptly disconnects. That's happened at least half dozen times. Maybe I'll try re-pairing again.
Your problem sounds exactly like mine. We need a solution! Anyone from GM reading this forum?
What versions of Android are you guys running? That could be one reason for the issue. My phone is running on a variant of 2.3 Gingerbread. Maybe older versions have an issue with this kind of bluetooth connection?

To me as an IT professional, this is part of the Android OS's problems. There are just too many "variations" of the same operating system to be properly covered by all applications like bluetooth. The iPhone does not have this problem nor will the Windows 7 phone. I like the concept of the Android OS. I just don't like the way it is being implemented by all the hardware OEMs. Google should have made one version and forced compliance to its features and functions. Every tweak that an OEM adds to the OS for their purpose puts that version further from the main package. I studied a number of phones and tablet PCs trying to decide where to invest my hard earned money and I tried out several android tablets at home before sending them back for a refund. I finally settled on an iPad 2 and I have been very pleased with it. No thoughts of sending it back even though Apple gives you 14 days to do so. It is great. Good luck to all the others trying to connect with your Android phones. I am sure you will eventually get there. I don' t have a Volt yet, so I don't have the same problem. When it does arrive in my driveway, I will have a new iPhone 4 (or 5 if it is available) and I know I will be able to connect just fine. Sorry, if this comes across wrong to Android owners. I did not intend to be negative towards your decisions. Just commenting and voicing my opinion.
I always liken the situation to the Mac/PC issue. Macs are inherently easier to code for because there is normally a very limited set of hardware that the software needs to work on, whereas the PC has to contend with many different hardware configurations. That efficiency is the price you pay for being on many more devices I guess. I personally have had nothing but love for Android since it came out.

I have a Sprint HTC EVO G4 and I have had connection issues from the second I got my car 6 weeks ago. This is ultimately frustrating. In my case the phone works for one or two calls and then it unpairs. I get two errors on my phone. One that has to do with google frameworks and one that has to do with android.process.com force closing. My other bluetooth devices work perfectly with my phone which leads me to believe there is a communication problem between the Volt and the Evo phone. $43K for the car, probably the most technologically sophisticated car on the market and the bluetooth doesn't work. That's baffling.
