Too funny. I'll bet some local in a golf cart was miffed that you took their spot.

By the way your picture makes me wish I could go back to that decision I was making between Red and Viridian Joule! That car is beautiful!

I'm shocked (no pun intended) and dismayed! But why am I not surprised, LOL? The Mouse is a greedy little guy IMHO.

Personally I would write this up and send it to the local newspaper/newsletter. Apparently the Community of tomorrow is stuck in the past. Maybe title it "Electric cars have grown up". By the picture on the sign they meant for golf carts or utility vehicles to park there.

Already sent this to the Celebration News. Checking the Orlando Sentinel now, thanks for the support!

IMO, Walt would be very very disappointed. Disney was a man that looked ahead and risked it all on the vision of a better future. Every thing that he is remembered for people told him don't do it the risks are too high, protect what you've built today and tomorrow will take care of itself. His early ventures paid the bills and made a living for people he worked with for a time. But the things people begged him not to do grew to be businesses that survived him. Obviously his moves forward turned into lasting legacies. It's clear to me which side of the vision equation the powers of Celebration sit on.

Could it be termed protect the present to perish in the future? Win the battle but lose the war?

I have visited Walt Disney Word a few times since 1985, and I have seen how expensive it is to eat there, so when I visit it the following times, I eat a heavy breakfast first outside, carry a few snack bars for lunch, drink free fountain water (it is the same H2O as in bottles!) and eat dinner after I leave. I realized that the new owners have changed Mickey Mouse to Money Mouse (or Richie Rat)!

I hope that the Celebration community decides in the Volt's favor! If not, give plenty of bad publicity to WDW and to the city of Orlando. It will cost them more to fix their image after they have lost a few millions per year of lost visitors.

Go see the Kennedy Space Center instead!

Wow. Get this in a local/regional paper. Things will change in a hurry.

Stupid question that just dawned on me from this picture:

Why is the charge port on the driver side when most parallel parking puts the passenger side to the curb (where an outlet would be)?

    Orlando has charging stations:

Personal best: 72.9 miles (One charge only, no Mountain Mode, no gas, no significant elevation change.)

to rip a line from an '84 favorite:

"I was gonna call the article: "Walt Disney's Celebration is sitting on top of the world." But now I think I might as well just call it "Walt Disney Can Sit On Top of the World Just As Long As He Doesn't drive an electric car, 'Cause There's No free charging Allowed in There!"

    go chargepoint!
