My first 1,000 miles

I just went over my fist 1,000 miles. We had 750 miles of gas driving from New York to Lansing MI.

Total Miles: 1058
EV Miles: 304
MPG: 49
I have used .4 gallons of gas in the past week.

...in my 05 Pontiac Vibe. Even with the thrifty lil Toyota Corolla motor I only managed 29mpg on the drive. I get even less in the city. I'm curious what the dash display indicated when you arrived in Lansing? I'm assuming you used 20 gallons for the 750 mile trip, which would give you about 37mpg.
Damn you Volt and your thriftiness compared to 99% of the vehicles on the road!!!
I'm totally stoked you got your Volt and your cruising around Michigan now... I also think its awesome that you have created a Volt fan site for comparing to other Volt owners, its hella sweet.
What do you think of this idea? I want Chevy to create a Volt comparison iPhone, iPad app, similar to the way Bing has created a top 100 music app. (not an obvious connection, right?) Anyway, I think it would be great for owners to track their efficiency (and other technical stuff) of their current vehicle. Then, with a click of a button, you could compare it to what kind of efficiency you would get in the Volt.
Example:
"In your 2005 Pontiac Vibe you have managed a fuel efficiency rating of 28.8 mpg over the last 12,000 miles. Your carbon footprint is 45 barrels of oil, and 9000 tons of Co2."
"If you had been driving a Chevy Volt you would have attained a 394mpg rating over the same 12,000 miles since your average commute (times between plug ins) is less than 30 miles. Your carbon footprint is .75 barrels of oil, and .92 tons of Co2"
I don't know, something like that! Please don't slay me on the numbers... I'm just talking concept here. It could be done, well in fact. The more sophisticated the better.

Still waiting to even see a Volt in B.C. Canada.
My 11 mile each way commute with 110v. charging at work will eventually see me only using gasoline on holidays & long weekend getaways.
As it is now, I get 1 - 4 of those miles on electric which works out to about 5 - 10 minutes of the 25 minute drive in my Ford Escape hibrid.
Average 28mpg in winter & 30+ in summer. (includes the dreaded fully loaded trips over the coast mtns.)

Has anyone pumped up the tires in their Volt to squeeze out a few more electric miles per charge?
