Default BMW Concept X5 eDrive Plug-In Hybrid Breaks Cover

I stumbled across this over at Gas2.org (hope this is not a duplicate post):

Skimming the article, I don't see an estimated price? I like it, though.

A 94 hp el. motor?! The i3 has a 170 hp one, the i8 has a 131 hp one, and this much larger and heavier (6,000 lbs +) vehicle only gets 94? Why even bother?

Looks like it will be similar to the Energi twins. 19 mile EV range, up to 75mph, but I would assume under pretty light acceleration.

It is too little power, too much money, and too late.

The new BMW vehicles are great news for the industry. I will be checking them out.

Its enough to have it cruise down the freeway at a steady speed, which would put a nice dent in fuel consumption.

Because hybridization helps efficiency and plug-in also helps.

PiP is 14 miles NEDC, 11 blended EPA, So expect something like 15 EPA.

Maybe 8 kWh battery? Given the weight of this vehicle, you really wouldn't want to make too much power available in EV because you'd be hammering the battery under acceleration quite a lot.

Here is another write up on the car. it seems that since this is still in the concept stages most of the figures will be vastly different once they really start looking at who is going to buy the car. A 75mph top speed and only a 94hp motor I do not think will cut it for many people.
