Default Music is playing through my iPad, not the car speakers

This issue was only intermittent before, but this morning I could not get my MP3s to play through the car's speakers. Everytime I plugged in my iPad it would play through the iPad's speakers. I could control which track was being played with the steering wheel controls, but it was maddening to not be able to enjoy my tunes on the car's speakers!

I have an iPad 2, if that matters, iOS is up-to-date.

Will test with my Ipad 2 tonight and report back what happens on my 2013.

    Happens on my iphone4s.
Reboot of phone fixes it for me.

Remember, if in doubt reboot it.

Well, I never rebooted my iPad, but it worked fine all afternoon/evening. Bizarre.

happens to me sometimes on my iphone (4S). I find in general bluetooth audio works better. A reboot of the phone fixes it most of the time.

I have this happen to me sometime when I take a short trip (1-2 miles) while listening to my iPod. When I restart the Volt, the sound sometimes comes through the iPod. I generally listen to XM for the next leg of my trip and when I come back after at least an hour or so, the iPod works fine again.
