    Default iphone phone voice operations

    Folks,
I know I can use voice control to say 'handsfree, call, xxxxxxxx (the number)', but does anyone know how to use the iphones built in contact list via voice? I thought someone said they had...

I would like to be able to say ' handsfree, call, bob at home', and have it use the iphone contacts list.

    Any have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Press the Talk Button on the VOLT steering wheel, then say "handsfree", after the next voice prompt say "bluetooth", then after the next voice prompt say "voice". This will invoke the Voice Dialing feature on the iPhone and will allow you to now say the contact's name.

Good grief, do you really have to go through all those steps to make a call?

No. You only have to go through those steps to make a voice activated handsfree call through the mobile phone and use the phone's voice control (voice recognition). It is quicker to make a call by pressing the phone button on the VOLT and selecting the phone number from the iPhone's contacts that are displayed on the Volt's LCD center screen, or select a recently dialed or missed call from the list displayed..

Are the iphone contacts automatically there? Or do I need to do something to transfer them? (other than bluetooth -pair)

    Go to: http://www.chevrolet.com/owners/chevy-manuals/
Choose Volt how to videos, and check out the "voice recognition"
    and "bluetooth" videos.

As soon as I paired my iPhone4 with the Volt, all of my phone's contacts were displayed in the Volt's contact list, as well as the iPhone4's Recent call list. I didn't do anything but pair the phone.

However, one thing that I noticed is that if the iPhone's contact phone number contains pauses and extra digits to access a voice mail system, the Volt will only dial the 10 digit phone number and ignore everything after the the first 10 digits. If I dial the contact number from the iPhone4 directly, it does dial the extra digits and pauses as needed to get my voice mail. Even if I dial the number from the iPhone4 first, and then access it on the Volt's recently dialed list, it still truncates the phone number to the first 10 digits only. So for now, I can either dial the voice mail number by pressing the button on the iPhone, or use the iPhone's voice control rather than the Volt's voice control system. Has anyone else encountered this?
