Volt tire inflator issue

Has anyone tried the tire inflator? I am embarrassed to say I can't seem to get it to work. It looks like it has a sealant setting as well as an inflator setting. But I could not turn the dial, nor get it to start.

I attached the hose to a tire (my wife's car needed some air), plugged it into the plug in the compartment on top of the dash and turned on the car. The inflator guage lit up, but I could not get it to turn on.

When I picked up my new Volt yesterday (practically identical to the CAB Volt), the dealer guys could not get it to work either (so I felt a little better about it).

sounds like a defective unit.
there are acouple other posts on this forum about it, at least one other person has had a problem with one, but apperred to get it resolved after getting squirted with the gue.

A previous poster had trouble changing the setting between 'goop' and 'air'. Apparently you have to push the dial 'in' to turn the dial...

I was able to get the inflator to work. The previous post is correct, it is difficult to turn the setting from "goop" to "air". You need to push down firmly and turn the dial to "air". After getting the setting right, the inflator worked perfectly. You get immediate gratification by checking the new pressure on the tire pressure indicator screen.
