Default 22 hour drive in back seat?

Can it be done? Myself and 2 of my friends are planning in driving the volt back from New York to Iowa. 2 people are around 200 lbs and under 6 foot. The other friend is about 275 and 6'-1". I don't want to be stuck in the back when I don't drive. Do you think we will have issues with the backseat and legroom? Will it be horrible?

    Thanks

You should be OK as long as no one has to sit behind the taller person. The shorter person up front can move their seat up a bit and the person behind them will have enough room. The lucky taller person should always have a front seat with the seat pushed back.

I would pay a local guy to flatbed the Volt from New York to Iowa or get smaller friends!

Shipping is $900. I have to fly out either way and it ahould be fun. It should only cost $150 in gas lol. I havebfree places to stay all the wY back. Plus I have never seen the NYC.

I'm just over 5'11" and I'm pretty sure my hair touched when I was in the back seat. This fella may want to take another road trip with you when it is just he and you and back seat can be empty...IMHO.

Good luck! It will be a tight fit, so dont pack too much ! As much as I like my car, I am still trying to get used to the smaller space in front and back than my other vehicle, a Lexus RX300. I am very glad I had mine shipped here from TX. It saved wear and tear ( 1355 miles ). The truckers fee was only 375.00 , and 150.00 fee to the shipping broker that set it up...money well spent. Trucking from NY to IA I know is a different story and most likely higher shipping cost. Why 3 people on this trip ?

Hey, back in my day you stuffed 5 college guys into a Pinto and drove from NJ to FL! :-)

But I agree with honoreitiscom above, with judicious apportioning of front vs rear seat leg room, you should be OK. With a stop and switch every few hours especially. Plus it's an adventure, bringing your new Volt home like that, probably one you'll never forget!

PS. If you want a great "rear seat" car, get yourself a new Buick LaCrosse; the space and comfort in back are top notch. If my Volt had fallen through, I might have been waiting to buy one of those with the new eAssist 4-cyl. coming out, said to get 37mpg highway. http://tinyurl.com/4cx8dhq

I live in Iowa and would be willing to cram in the backseat in place of your friends... What part of the state are you in, May i get my first chance to view a Volt in the Wild?
