I'd like to at least test drive one. It might be big enough to replace the Impala eventually.

Buy from a dealer in CA/OR and pay to ship.

Has anyone explored the CA "buy and ship" route? Local service issues? What would the shipping costs be for 2/3 of the way across the country? I would love a Spark as a 2nd vehicle to our Volt.

Can ANY Chevrolet dealer service a Spark EV? I'd need to know that before taking the plunge. But that is one way around the current GM moratorium.

It seems like decades ago, that December of 2010 as we anxiously awaited the roll out of the first Chevy Volts to select Chevy Dealers, including ours, in just 6 states and the District of Columbia. As you see in the map below of the Volt roll out it, was not until November of 2011, some 9 months later, that the Volt came off Beta, all Volt Training/Teaching Demo's were allowed to be sold and the balance of 26 states and world wide sales began.

So rigidly controlled was this roll out that sales suffered yet this disruptive wildly new technology has proved itself beyond my wildest dreams.

I suspect that the Chevy Spark EV, following the accomplished trail of the Amazing Chevy Volt EREV will arrive on scene, nationwide, a heck of a lot sooner!

I think GM today is all about the money. If they can sell all they make in CA, why take on the expense of rolling it out nationwide? And if they do, I have a strong feeling they will take their own sweet time about it. Because let's face it, now that they have Volt facilities nationwide, if they REALLY wanted to be selling the Spark EV in every state, they certainly had the capability to do so from day one. There's a lack of corporate will happening here, that's all.
