Volt Sighting

This morning, in D.C. on Canal Road...

I was traveling home and but 1.5 miles from my house when I came upon a Volt parked at a residence. When I spotted it, I slammed my breaks on, scared my wife, but that passed rapidly when I told her that it was a Volt!

So my wife and I stopped to inquire about the person driving the Volt, and he came out to talk to us. Turns out he is a GM employee driving one of the captured fleet cars and was visiting family here in Tewksbury Mass. We had talked for almost half an hour and we really appreciated the time he spent with us discussing the Volt and his drive from Michigan. My wife is from Michigan close to the area that the Volt was developed at as well as the production facility. I have a deposit down at a dealer in Michigan since the Volt will not be available till at least fall in Mass. Unlike some here I don't expect to get mine till the April to July time frame.

It has been pretty darn cold in the greater Washington D.C. area this week. I wonder if the driver of this Volt has experienced the problem described by the "guy on the other side of the fence" regarding the need to replace a power supply because of cold weather failure (see the thread about deliveries).

Those are some plastic doo-hickeys on my Wrangler. I believe the windshield will tilt forward and rest on them...although I have no plans to try it!
