By the way, the Volt comes with a piece of cloth (in the storage area under that cargo area) that has 4 hooks on the corners, that can be strung up against the back of the back seats to form a simple cloth barrier. I believe that is all I'll need to keep my 17-year-old dog from escaping from the cargo area.
That's good to know. That's what I'll use instead of the LPO accessory.

Hmm interesting on the LPO acc. I can't recall but isn't there different colors of leather. I know I have ordered the darker/black leather (don't have my order info with me to know for sure). But does anyone know if this LPO would match the leather color? If not then I wouldn't want it.

There are two colors of leather, black and neutral leather. Based on the pictures I have seen of the neutral leather interior, the seats are two tone rather than all light colored. I don't know, but it is my guess that the barrier is black for the part that faces front. Should be good for black leather interior, but may not look as good with the neutral leather interior.

It is oddly listed as a 'cargo carrier' on the site: http://www.gmaccessorieszone.com/Che...1[type]=gm
and it appears they have pictures now...I don't recall that before.

The Rear Seat Storage/Barrier is a dual-purpose accessory that provides a storage compartment between the rear passenger seats, while closing the gap between the rear seats and the cargo area.

I discovered that the "load floor access cover" can be held in the raised position by using the small loop located underneath. You will see it in the upper right when the floor is raised. Attach it to the same loop you use for the cargo cover. Add the cloth cargo cover to keep cargo from being seen. It's an effective alternative built-in to every Volt.

Very clever Mark. I saw that before and have used the cord to hold the floor cover up while I was in there (showing it at an EV show or something).

It is hard to tell from that 4th pictures angle but it leaves a little triangle of space behind both back seats (that is what my red lines are showing).

Took some quick pictures to show what Mark was talking about.

For $2.50 worth of black foam board at Target, plus two squares of velcro you can do your own barrier. Lightweight, removable. Maybe I'll dress it up the prototype with some edging and leather.

I have ordered it on one of my 2012's. It is RWW LPO rear seat storage/barrier. It only comes in Black. It is also supposed to cut down on noise and make for a quiter ride for the rear seat passenger(s).

In case anyone is interested in how big and what the rear seat storage/barrier can hold, here are some photos:

For those putting the barrier between carseats, a more important thing to compare it to may be the similar sized box of baby wipes :- )
