    Default Induction Charging

Why does charging have to be tethered on the Volt, can't it be done with Induction? I can just picture myself being distracted and driving down the street with the severed wire in tow! Also it's a hassle to plug and unplug everyday. This would be an invaluable option at public charging stations, especially in less desirable neighborhoods!

Has anybody with a Trifield meter tested the EMF levels yet, this would be the only thing holding me back from buying one?

It will not let you drive it when plugged in.

Induction charging is still way inefficient.

The Chevrolet Volt meets or exceeds all currently mandated standards for vehicular electromagnetic field emissions.

Induction charging (by which I assume you mean a mat or zone that you park over) hasn't matured to the production point yet, but I don't doubt that it will. Here's a thread where inductive charging has been discussed, although not recently.

Here's a short thread where EMF is discussed.
