Exclamation Black/Black Interior at Start of Production!

I received the following message from Angie the other day, which she said she would post shortly afterwards (and has) in the ChevroletVoltage.com forum. Looks like the AFI interior will be available at start of production!

Hopefully, I come bearing good news! I have just been told officially that the AFI interior will be available at start of production. I will be posting this on the Chevrolet VoltAge forum as well...

    Let the celebrations begin!

I instructed my dealership to try to make the change but it may be too late since I have been at 3000 for three weeks now. I am happy with either selection. I will let you know if they allow the change

    Confirmed!

My Crystal Red Volt order with AFI interior was just moved to Vehicle Being Produced status this morning on the Chevrolet.com tracking page.

Here is what I heard back from my dealer (I will not be moving myself to the end of the list after I have gone through to get to the front of the line )

Jerry, it is too late to change your order because your order was one of the first orders excepted by general motors. Once it is at status 3000 the orders cannot be changed. You can forgo this order and order another one, but that would move you to the end of the list. Please advise me of what you would like to do.

Nice! Sadly I'm STILL at 1100, haha... But I did have a Volt advisor try to call me today. Hopefully I'll get some info as to when my car might move to "Being Produced" status.

Well that must be good to hear about being at the front of the line! I plunked down money months ago but my order didn't get placed into the system until mid-August... I'm still hoping I can get my Volt in 2010 though

Is it safe to say that if you're in an initial rollout market and you are in the first 10 of your dealer that you will get your car by the end of December? That's also assuming that your dealer has 10 allocations.

    Default not for michigan

no...my order is in Michigan, supposedly a launch market and they don't even begin making our volts until March. I don't get how we were labeled a launch market.

Further, only the very first positions at any particular dealer are getting theirs before end of year (and even that's not assured yet).

Here's a back of the envelope calculation. Take the allocation (10, in your case) and spread it over the Nov 2010 to June 2011 production cycle. That's just over ONE car per month for that dealer.

Now apply the regional variations, such as Michigan not starting until March, and redo the math.

I think we're going to start getting build dates very very soon (next few days) so all this should clear up a bit more soon. But I don't see any way that a Michigan dealer is getting a car before January. Sorry

Ah, I'm in the DC region but my dealer has an allocation of only 4. This might explain why my order status hasn't moved yet, even though I'm first in line there and (I think) the order was submitted relatively early.

I was hoping for sometime in 2010 but I guess I won't hold my breath.
