Not if the seat heat is thermostatically controlled. What part of "living in temperate southern California" are you missing here? I have toyed with setting the thermostat to 90 or 52 and trying remote start. But that's a tad bit of a stretch also.

The DashDAQ does definitely see the draw from the battery if I try remote start (without being plugged in). But draining miles that I could be enjoying driving, just in the name of science, seems so ... wrong :- )

Smart alec. It does get cool (50s) at night right: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate...perature_range

Or I would guess if you turn on the heated seat manually to Low for 30 seconds you'd see a draw. Then turn it off for 5 minutes. Then turn it on Med for 30 seconds, ... etc.

How are you calculating MPkWh? I don't see a kWh measurement available to DashDAQ. Overall I'm impressed with the unit, but not the calculators....

I just found this thread. I've been reading the DashDAQ thread regularly, but hadn't realized that Rusty had hidden more delicious goodies here. Thanks for all of your hard work Rusty, WOT, and RScott. Please keep the info coming!

A boy's gotta maintain *some* sense of mystery, doesn't he?

Yeah, that never made much sense when my last girlfriend said it, either :- )

Any idea where I can find the volt's wiring diagram, individual controller wiring schematics as well as their locations in the car? I just got my volt today and want to poke around a bit.
    Thanks,

    Alex

I don't think that information is available free anywhere. If you're still interested, I think there are three places to find it. GM has a subscription based diagnostic site which has lots of detailed service info, and Helm sells a paper service manual that's perennially out of stock and also a DVD of service information covering all GM cars for the model year. I'm not positive if all of the information in the paper manual is on the DVD (I think it is, but the descriptions aren't that clear.)
