Charge methods & ports : Handshake charging only?

OK, so it's presumably well understood that charging the volt via 110-220 is going to require a 'smart' cord that only begins charging after the handshake completes.

Is there a bypass, or any type of inverted charging port available?

i.e. for:

tow behind batteries
low voltage DC charging
drive over cradle coupling, etc...

No such port is available, but it will be a popular modification for the Nissan LEAF.

I suspect Nissan will have genset trailers for their own internal uses, to ferry LEAFS from dealer to dealer.
