Toyota is bringing out a new version of the Toyota RAV4 Electric. Now if GM would bring back the EV1 I would cancel my reservation for a Nissan Leaf.

Desertstraw,
You know after all your posts in Nimhi batts I think you may have a point in one area. and I have yet to see someone here disprove it. I would like to see some comparisons between NimH and Li with as a function of cycles. My guess is that NiMHi is at least as durable or more durable than Li.
PS- I'm sure you know Toyota,s new Rav4 EV has a Tesla Li pack.
Congrats on the Leaf. The batteries won't go dead just sitting there!!
---and how's life in a super conservative state like AZ. Do you feel out of place?? Does it seem like a strange land?? Gotta love our Governor!!

In response to your question, I have lived in AZ for 38 years. Two years ago, circumstances brought me to Arapaio country which I dislike. Southern Arizona where I spent most of my time is more civilized.
I would buy an EV1 with lithium batteries - it was a nice car.
I apologize DS. I thought that I remembered you posting that you moved from the great lakes area but maybe you did 38 yrs ago.
Did you mean Arpaio County? As in Sheriff Joe?
I think you will like the Leaf. Much more practical than the EV1 but not even close on drag coefficient! If you like funky body styles like the EV1 then what about one of the original Honda Insights. I really like that car.
PS I'm an EV1 fan too. I remember when they were developing it. I really liked reading about it.

Wrong spelling, I did mean Sheriff Joe. During my long life, I have lived in most parts of the country except New England. It may sound trite but my favorite is California.
As for the EV1, I saw it in a Tucson showroom. I thought that it was a very attractive vehicle with lots of new ideas.
I'd love to see one. What showroom!!
Never mind. It was probably back before they destroyed most of them.
I think there's one in a museum somewhere or something.

An EV-1 can be seen at the Henry Ford Museum (Greenfield Village) in Dearborn, Michigan if you're ever visiting this part of the country.
There's also one at the Peterson Automotive Museum (Alternative Power exhibit) in LA
and the EV1 previously displayed in the Smithsonian is currently "in storage"
WOT
SR,WOT-Thx for the input.
