VIN codes are repeated here in the attachment. The last few digits (positions 12-17) define the overall place your unit came off the line. So Rusty has 000095 as his last 6 digits meaning he has the 95th official for sale to consumers Volt ever made coming to him. So now you see why I am asking for your VIN sgc. I want to get an idea how high of a number to expect for my unit which will be built next week. If you are uncomfortable giving the whole number just give the last 3 digits so we know your position in the queue.

No problem...my last three are 114.
Hard to believe its that high. I placed my order Aug 6/9 with dealer, but I think what's really controlling is the geographic order for delivery that GM has decided to follow. I'm in So California, which apparently is an advantage over even other initial markets.

So Rusty gets his VIN at 95 on 11/17 and sgc gets 114 on 11/18. It looks like the line is starting to move now. Can't wait to get my VIN next week.

FYI, my order is going through Jimmy Johnson Chevy in San Diego.

I was #22 of 25 at Jimmy Johnson. I jumped ship and landed at Bob Stall. They weren't making a list, they simply started taking orders when they could place them. I ended up #2 of 18 in their production slots. May I ask where you are, and do you know if they still have 15 initial/10 later slots or did they get more/less?

I've also heard of 4B00, indicating the vehicle is bayed and awaiting shipping. There's an order number someone posted on CT that had that code in the mix too, between 4150 and 4200 if I remember correctly.

I placed my deposit at JJ just 2 days before the price was announced, I think late July. At that time they said I was no. 6 of the 2010 13. I made my picks and placed the actual order within a few days of being given all the options around the 1st week of August. They entered the order within a day or 2 and I jumped to no. 2 at JJ. My car and the no. 1 person's car are being built next week. JJ has orders for the remaining 11 for 2010 and probably the next 10 for Jan but I don't know for sure about the latter.

That's right about the same time I wondered out to Bob Stall and plunked down my grand. Stall's got a larger initial order (but smaller overall) so maybe that's why their first 2 are going this week. Let's all hope for that pretty bow on the bow-tie...

General information. Online window sticker is usually available a few days after vehicle has been invoiced status code 4150. Prior to that it just defaults to the Forbidden screen.
