I had an nice telephone conversation with Matt Sloustcher
Public Relations Manager for CODA Automotive
today, and this is an info update. They are on schedule for having vehicles for sale by this December. They are continuing desert hot testing, since Southern California is their initial market and freeway speeds are California. He stressed their high tech battery temperature management system was designed to give the CODA peak performance at high temperatures and highway speeds.
Matt stated that they will be kicking off the vehicle this fall at the LA Auto Show and SEMA in Las Vegas. CODA will be ready for test driving for customers around that time. I asked him if they had any update on their loan to move the battery production to Ohio, it is still pending. Having worked recently for the US Department of Energy in their Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Department, I know nothing moves fast unless Obama, the Vice-President, or Secretary of Energy are breathing down your buns.
