\r\n Installed the Curt 1 1/4" hitch on my 2013. Strong mount to the right side using welded nuts on vehicle but left side only mounts to the sheet metal pan. Must remove one plastic plug and drill a 2nd 1/2" hole, then use 1/4" plate spacers. Seems weak on that side. Also with 3 bolts in place the right rear flange was 1/4" from the welded nut, making the bolt too short. Replaced with a M10x1.5x40 bolt from Ace hardware.

\r\nI only intend to use it with a bike rack so I expect it will be strong enough for that. Now I\'m puzzling over where to attach stabilizer straps to the car body - everything seems to be plastic. Maybe straps thru the rear doors to the hinges? Anyone have suggestions?\r\n

    \r\n I\'ll be interested to see how it all works out for you. The Volt seems like one of the least "rack friendly" vehicles I\'ve ever seen.\r\n

    \r\n So what are the complaints and concerns? I have one on my 2017 Volt Premier and I have towed with it (small utility trailer) without issue, but only made one trip so far. What should I worry about?\r\n

    \r\n I didnt even know what a stabilizer strap was to be honest and had to look but found this video and looks like attaching to top of the hatch on a Prius, but dont think this is plastic on the Volt. To be honest my bikerack doesnt move at all but it has a stabilizer system built in where I don\'t use just a hitch pin. I have to carry around a 13mm socket but no big deal to tighten down or remove when needed and it been rock solid for the 5 or so years I have used it. Its is something similiar to this but it came with my swagman bike rack\r\n
