    Default 2013 not fully charging (green bar)

    Hey folks. First post.

    Background: I've owned a very lightly used 2013 Volt (30k miles, mostly gas driven from previous owner) for the last 4 months problem free. The car charges on a 120v dedicated 15amp circuit. I always change the power level in the menu prior to charging.

    Issue: The last few days my Volt has not been fully charging. (I'm well aware a full charge number largely depends on the previous few days of driving and charging and climate control usage).

    The issue is the car does not fully charge indicated by the green power bar. After a full nights charge the car is missing 2-3 bars on the power meter and the mileage number matches. Nothing has changed in my household.

    Any ideas as to what is going on?

    Several possibilities:

    It could be the charger is not finishing the charge because of settings in the charging menu not allowing enough time. (If you have a preset finishing time for charges)

    Or your car's clock could be set wrong.

    Or charging is getting interrupted due to power glitches from power company.

    Does the KW used this charge reset back to zero after your charging is done? What does the charge light on the dash show, solid green, blinking fast, blinking slow? You may check to make sure you do not have time of rate set to winter/summer rates as this may have changed your time your car will charge.
    Not just a volt tech, also a volt owner.

    When you get to your car after a full nights charge, look at the flashy green light. What does that tell you? See if the car thinks it is fully charged. Then, see if the car will accept a charge. Unplug and watch the flashy light. Do this first and this will tell you a few things and can rule out a few things.

    Combine my post with mpmoore1979 and you will probably figure this out.

    My 2013 was doing this and it turned out to be an issue with a section of the HV battery(that was replaced), but I eventually got a CEL as well.

    If the charge is being interrupted, it could be an electrical issue. Several have reported various issues with coffee makers and other stuff interfering with the EVSE operation. The EVSE has built in low voltage and GFCI detection, so, a voltage or ground fluctuation could do it.

    First thing I would try is using a different outlet on a different breaker.

    A few questions need answered:

    1. Is the charge indicator blinking green, solid green or yellow?
    2. Do you schedule charge or do you charge immediately
    3. What time do you begin your charge and what time do you unplug?

    It sounds like you are changing the charging rate to 12 amps when you start. I'll bet the car is dropping back to 8 amps during the night due to perceived issues with the electricity.

    Remember, the climate where tou live also determines how much charge the vattery gets
    Overnite in a cool climate affects the battery
    in the sumner month's , around august the hottest months of the year, you will pick up a few more ev miles compared to the winter time ,when you lose ev miles
    Remember, you need a dedicated electricial conbection when you charge you're car
    If anything else shares that circut, you could pop the circut breaker and you will stop charging your battery
