I drive slower to increase range and mpg. This means that most people pass me. [I am discussing traveling on 4 lane roads here, so passing is not an issue.] I have noted on several occasions that people will hover behind me for awhile before passing. It is not my imagination. They approach at a particular rate of speed and then tail me. I don't know whether they are just mesmerized by the Volt's rear end or what. It is weird because there is no one else around and they just linger. Then they finally snap out of their trance and pass me at a brisk pace, as if annoyed that they had lingered.

When I had my deer on the back, on the way to the deer processing shop, the fellow in the passenger seat pulled out a camera and snapped my picture- and then they passed, as normal. I do not know whether it was the Volt, the deer or the combination that attracted their interest. The Volt does indeed cause some people to behave differently around the car.

I have a very simple rule regarding the carpool lane that I wish people would follow. The rule is: if you are being passed by people on your right, then you do not belong in the carpool lane.

From personal experience I find this a very good rule, except it seems a bit silly around 95 mph or so.

Haven't noticed any issues with other cars while in the Volt. For the most part it just blends in with traffic.

It's the biggest car I've personally owned in about 10 years, but in previous smaller cars (mostly Corvettes) I didn't notice any issues either.
