Need to vent. Had my second flat in two months last night. Once again the pump sealant was of no friggin use. Had to wait hours for the car to be towed to dealership. Been driving since I was 16 having grown up in Ca. Driven cross country numerous times, had blowouts, nails and the like in tires, but never ever did I need to wait hours to have a car towed for a flat tire. I should add that never had two flats within 2 months. The goodyear tires may have a low rolling resistance, but that does not relate to flats. I have cycling tires with low rolling resistance and they rarely flat compare to lower end tires cycling tires that can flat by looking at them. I should add that I've pulled tacks and staples out of my cycling tires but they did not flat as easily as the Goodyear tires. Goodyear should be ashamed for making such a inferior product.

As the other writer above was wondering, does anyone have experience with the Michelin's. Time to invest in something that doesn't flat out by staring at it.

I also have had one go out, pax front the 2nd week I had the car. Usually the GY tires are pretty reliable, however if another goes, I'll be going a different direction. Car is relatively light so the force can't be that much. Has anybody contacted GY about the failures?

3 of the 4 of mine have failed.

The last one was a blowout on the freeway.

The first two "may" have been due to a speed bump in my neighborhood. I say "may". I go over it slowly so I find it hard to believe that was the issue.. Two were sidewall failures.

the third (blowout on freeway) was the bead separating from the sidewall. Needless to say I'm not happy with GY...

I'm keeping them at about 38-42 psi and have had no problems with wear or impact fractures, in spite of the miserable potholes in the streets here in LA. Now, about a year ago I remember a comparison of low rolling resistance tires in which the Assurance's came in in the mediocre part of the pack and Michelin model came in at the top of the heap with lower rolling resistance, better stick for braking and weather performance, longer tread life and quite a bit quieter. Don't remember the name of the Michellin tire but has anybody switched over to them? How are they working for you?
Michelins Green X technology - They are performing very well - great grip and quite only issue I have with them is their block size could have been smaller as they are showing signs of feathering on both inside and outsides on both fronts due to the Volts high camber geometry settings and my city driving, I understand Michelin have released an updated version MICHELIN ENERGY™ E-V tires to Renault Zoe model.

LRR tires are usually hard rubber. They can't
handle lots of flexing, so the sidewalls blow out when they flex too
    much and overheat.

    I,m running 42psi...max is 44psi

check your tire pressures!!! ... pressure on the high side will keep that flex to min

...going over speed bumps would cause a lot of flex
...likewise I'd like to meet the genius that decided to place raised and sunken manhole covers in the direct path of our tires
...to avoid them all you need to weave like a drunk
