Default Solar power according to FOX news.

    The ignorance is hilarious:

It is true that Germany has massive subsidy for solar panels and alternative energy. Many roofs have massive panels. The solar map shows that the yield in cloudy Germany is about 2x worse than in the USA. With that difference, it would probably have been much more rational to put these panels in sunny Spain instead.

I served an active duty tour in the army for 4 years, 3 of which was in Germany. Bavaria to be more specific. I finished that tour in september of 2012, and of the 3 years, there was only one discernable summer. The rest of the days were cloudy or rainy.

    You're correct - TOTALLY clueless!

Even with 15 days that were less than optimal with a winter time sun plus rain, fog, all day clouds or mostly cloudy days, we still managed to produce ~200 kWh more than we used this billing cycle. We even ran the pool pump.

    Rainy Days.JPG

<Cue sarcasm> The month before was just awful. We had to pay for 392 kWh because of excessive holiday celebrations during the winter solstice - our worst sun angle month. Can you see my tears? </end>

The only reasons I can come up with as to why conservative mouthpieces at fox keep bashing EV's, the Volt, solar, etc. are
    1) that Saudi investment money really does result in anti-US "newz" wrapped in a red, white, and blue prophylactic,
    2) the oil company money buys a lot of political tilt,
    3) they simply are against anything that was not the norm in 1950.
    4) all the above.

I once said in jest that if Obama declared it was a nice sunny day, the GOP reply would be, "Hell no! It's dark and cloudy." Sadley, I did not know how close to the truth I was!

    Well said
Fox News likes to embrace ant OLD technology to comfort its old viewers
Luckily the next generation is learning that we do not need to burn fuel to transport or keep warm
We can make store electrons and heat from renewable resources

I am also sick and tired of 100 years of 'nat gas'
Check the math add in 2-3-4-5% annual growth rate and that 100 years shrinks quickly

If we all start using the resource more it will be used up more quickly
Maybe if demand stays low it will last but this is unlikely given its current low price
As more homes perhaps vehicles convert price will go up as well

The 1950's was the last decent Decade in this country before the scumbag UN-AMERICAN Progressive Socialists took over America.

The past always looks better when viewed from the present through the wispy vaseline lens of nostalgia.

While it's easy to dwell on all the bad of today and ignore all the good, we conveniently remember only the good of yesteryear, forgetting all the bad.

The 1930's now THAT was the decade to live in! It was the first real modern decade. Before the people of 1950 trashed it all. Of course, for the people of 1930, the late 1800's was probably the golden age.

Actually there would be 100 years even with greater demand. Of course, that's assuming biogas is fully exploited and methanization is used as energy storage from renewables.
