ChargePoint notification

Is there a way to be alerted when a ChargePoint station becomes available? At work, we have only two chargers run by ChargePoint. Sometimes, both of them are occupied so I have to wait. Instead of having to keep checking the ChargePoint website or app to see if a charger has become available, is there a way to be notified automatically (via email or text or iPhone alert) that one of the chargers have become available?

Thanks.

I'm not aware of a way. Have you tried to contact ChargePoint and ask? If they don't support it now, ask them to put it on the list for their next version of the software application. I have ChargePoint at my office too. I get there earlier than others so I don't have your issue of not having an open spot. I appreciate the ability of the Volt OnStar system to send me a text message when my charging is complete so that I can move my car and make the station available to someone else.

Thanks. Besides onstar, i think ChargePoint is supposed to be able to alert you as well when your car has been fully charged.

I have spoken to chargepoint rep. He said he would note my feature request. Oh well. I think the notification of availability of a charger should have been in version 1.0.

Main problem with public charging:

Frankly I have had a near ZERO% success with public chargers. Either I can't actually locate the listed charger... Or a Chevy Suburban is parked in my charging spot. Some a$$hole smashed bubble gum into the J 17772 connector. Some a$$hole has had his PIP pligged into my spot for six days in a row. ZERO success.

For me... The idea of public charging is a pipe dream. (Public J1772 chargers that WORK are more rare than unicorn tears.)

Not all ChargePoint stations are public. The two at my office are within our access controlled underground parking garage. My company picks up the charging costs, so its also free to employees. I really like ChargePoint's phone app that lets you know station status, they just need to add the messaging function the OP requested.

Use the Android app or a PC browser to determine if one is available. Maybe you can reserve them. Call Chargepoint I beleive they will answer 24/7.

I wish I could change the unplugged notifications I get when my Volt reaches full charge. When this happens I always go and move my car to another spot in the garage so I am not occupying a charging station.

I dont know what "Public Charging" means. I seems Fulgerites public charging stations are not managed and maintained by anyone. All public stations in Chicago that I know of are run by Chargepoint. They are typically inside a "public" garage where you must gain access to the garage by paying to park either hourly, daily, monthly. Anyone can do this. However to use the charging stations you must be with Chargepoint.

You need to visit Vegas. Only about a dozen locations, but, there are so few plug in vehicles here, that I have never had a problem
plugging in. Even at the Venetian last week end where there are two free stations right next to the elevator to the casino, nothing
needed, just plug in, both were available. Unfortunately, I never really have business near any of them, so, I make it a point to have
lunch near one, or, go to a movie. I have only had my Volt for a couple months, so, mostly just playing with the public stations. It
only costs me about fifty cents for a full charge at home, so, it is just an adventure at this point. I know that there is an option to
reserve once you are within a mile of a charger, do you know if this will allow you be be "next in line" if you do this?

You need it to ping you the moment they unplug from the car. Finished charging doesn't mean they will move their car, but unplugging might. Sure, a pip could be plugged in for 8 hours after their charge is done. This is why 120v at work charging wall sockets will be far more successful than L2 in the long run. Sites will need to establish a series of spots far enough away from entrances that they don't attract ICEing.
