    Default Fuelly.com

Ever wonder why the Volt isn't on Fuelly.com? My understanding is anyone can add a new car to fuelly. Has no one ever heard of the website or are the banning all Volt owners from our exceptionally great MPG (when taking into consideration of EV mode)

It used to be impossible to enter Volt type gas mileage at Fuelly - it would deny the 100+ mpg as impossible, and there was no where to record the electricity used. There was some discussion about when the Volt first came out, but then Voltstats came along with major technical benefits, and I think everyone gave up...

Ah Thanks Walter. That makes sense. I am about ready to do away with VoltStats.net. It is a love/hate relationship. For me it is like a big game to try and reach the top. I have caught myself thinking about driving our gas guzzling truck instead of the volt because I would have to use gas in the Volt. It makes no logical sense at all, I know. I just drive it and know I'm saving money.

Actually My volt is still there

But since you cannot get good data (they still won't let anything over 200mpg), they removed the category

Some people have tried repeatedly to get Fuelly to add MPGe and to account for electricity. Fuelly has responded that they are not going to add anything at this point. They said to just use Voltstats.

"Yeah, I'm sorry the site isn't designed to report that. We're set up to share and compare MPG. kWh/mile doesn't fit in with that scheme, and we're not going to completely reshape the site for a couple of vehicles. At our current moment in history people use MPG to compare the fuel economy of vehicles, so we're going to stick with that."

"We're going to take our time with this, and we might not add kWh tracking. Fuelly is a free service that we run on the side because we believe people should think about their fuel usage. We can't be all things fuel economy to all people. Some folks are going to disagree with how we do things—some are going to want more features than we offer. We're ok with that."

I don't know. My horse gets a good 25-30 MPF (miles per flake). I think they could account for that.
