Governor Granholm vowed to diversify the manufacturing industry in Michigan by providing huge incentives for companies that are in modern energy manufacturing, mentioning specifically GM for choosing to assemble the battery packs for the Volt here in Michigan, and also A123 Systems for seeking funding to create manufacturing jobs here too.

By "take them on", I think she meant "if you don't help us, we won't help you", or in other words, Michigan will stop spending tax money on goods and services from those states. Later in her speech, she said that at least 85% of all future government spending will be spent within Michigan.

I bet Michael Moore hates being right all the time. As much of a DB as he is sometimes, you gotta agree that he has hit the nail on the head every time he makes a documentary, even if it takes a few years to happen.

His film "Roger and Me" was providential, "Fahrenheit 911" showed what a moron we had for President, both of these films are becoming painfully prophetic.
