Now that the Iran Deal is more likely to be approved. Well, whatever happens, I am getting a 2016 Volt and installing more solar panels. That way, no matter the price of gasoline, my energy for commute is free!

If the Iran Deal is approved the price of oil will decline. Why? Because Iran can now sell millions of barrels of oil on the world market. With a glut of oil now on the world stage the price will go down, at least temporarily until the middle east becomes a nuclear war zone, and by all accounts it probably will.

Noone can predict it, but we all can guess it.
Someone however will want to make money off of it!
The future of oil pricing can swing both ways, conflict in the region, oil spills, refinery fires, we run out of it.
    OR
we discover more of it, in places where we have not looked yet.
or we can somehow make more of it, by growing some magical beans. Who knows?

The same way someone will make money on solar equipment its controllers and battery storage technology, until we find something better- a mini fusion reactor or some other junk.

Crude Oil prices are going to be cheap...especially with IRAN, the Saudis and the Russians all pumping to beat the band...if the US were smart it would reload its Strategic Petroleum Reserve over the next couple of years...Canadian Tar Sand opperation is going to be hit hard and the Bakken Oil Boom is over for the next couple of years...Of the 192 drilling rigs active in April of 2014, just 94 were open one year later, and the number continues to decline...

Russians are trying to make a pact (price fix) with Venezuela, to stabilize oil prices, Putin was visiting with them just recently.

I'm in between electric vehicles till at least the summer of 2017. I'm not worried too much about a price spike through that time period. Gluts in commodities take years to work themselves out, my guess is oil will wander in a band between 40 and 70 for the rest of the decade.
