    Default 50+mile Club

To celebrate my first week of ownership, I decided to try to join the 50+ mile club this morning. 54.5miles from/to my garage!!! Added bonus, I also crossed the 100mpg lifetime barrier.

I didn't choose a good route and ended up on one with several hills and too much stop/go. I think with a better route and cooler weather (had a/c on the whole time) 60+miles is reachable. Amazing car.

Very nice! I have achieved 50+ runs, but 54.5 battery miles is a definite accomplishment. The Volt is the only car I know that gets better than EPA mileage.

I'm sure it was downhill both ways.

I consistently do 70 km ( 42 Miles ) in my 2012 volt during the spring or fall, touched 78km once ( 47 miles) but have never cracked 50. Sounds like the 2013 volts battery upgrade in action!

If you notice in the picture, I maxed out at 10.3kWh which isn't the new, slightly larger battery. I have a 2012.

Yes, downhill both ways AND a tail wind both ways!!! LOL

I shouldn't have been skeptical of GM's 35-mile electric range claim. My 2013 is routinely getting 50-53 miles per charge, with an estimated range when I turn it on of 50. My lifetime mpg of 250+ went down becuase of a recent longish trip mostly in CS mode, but is back above 230 now.

I joined the 50+ mile club Saturday night! My old Personal best was 47.5, but tonight I went a lot further! Didn't have the A/C on just the fan, but had the radio on the whole way.

Love the cooler weather! And made it to my driveway using all battery up before the ICE ever fired up. I get some extra credit for that! Come on, come on! No F'in gas at all!

Drove all in town, highest speed limit was 45 and drove mostly sub 40mph, but did do 45 when traffic was behind me. Just cruising, listening to tunes.

And was driving mostly flat, as many uphills as downhills. It was nice hitting 22 miles driven with the 35 EPA rated miles still left on the battery estimate.

And to think, there might be some Leaf owners envious of the miles I got on this charge.

Also, if I had the Tesla S's 85kWh battery, I could have gone up to 465 miles. (Not sure of the useable kWh for the Tesla S is though, mileage may vary )

To hit the 60 miles club, I think I'll have to drive after midnight and not drive in any traffic.

Congrats.. yeps its easy to bet the EPA in the Volt. Not really surprising how the up hills and down hills balanced out when to do a R/T, but they are a lot more fun in a Volt, LOL.
