Out of curiosity, I took off the OEM mirrors and compared them to aftermarket aspheric mirrors I kept from my 2009 VW Jetta. Lo-and-behold, the plastic mounting clip is identical, as are the leads for heater element. It could be my dumb luck, but some industry association may have developed a standard for the sideview mirror mounting hardware.

I've now transferred my old Jetta mirrors to my Volt. There are sizable gaps with smaller Jetta mirrors, but the increased field of view more than makes up for the "cosmetic issue", at least for me.

FYI, I flipped the right OEM mirror to see if it would fit in the left mirror housing. It will fit, but I haven't tried mounting it "all the way". That gives us one more option to use a convex mirror on the driver side, albeit with the sentence "OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR" showing upside down

I know this is an old thread. But I finally made the decision to try these, went to all the links and these things are now $150 (or on sale for $108 each or so).

that's so odd that they went from $30 each to $150 each in a few weeks. Somethings weird.

Other than supply and demand, I have no clue why they would of bumped up the price so much.

GMPartsGiant has them for $108.31, which is a little cheaper, but still a lot more than there were and ridiculously expensive for what you get. No way these should cost this much. I even felt $40 was too much, though I did buy one at that price. I was thinking of replacing the driver side mirror too, but not at this price.

Pardon the crappy focus on my phone. The mirror works great. You are seeing two blurry shelves in the mirror, not just the one.
For $5 each, this seems like a solution worth trying for those who are no longer interested in the quadrupled $108/each price of the other.

I've ordered two more Autobahn Blind Spot Mirrors for me - I'm going to modify one of my older one (used on 4 different cars) to use on rental cars on my business trips. I'll find a suitable suction cup and graft it on to the base.
